Like a mirage in a hot dry windy desert, this inner city garden offers refuge from the maddening crowds that surround. Originally a gentle sloping block the site has been moulded to create a series of terraced spaces, each with its own personality but linked together through colour, texture and form. Sitting proud amongst a scattering of old and elegant trees lies a rejuvenated post-war brick house. The home of a young new family whose brief was to create a single visually unobtrusive space to cater for a number of active and passive activities, although within a physically separate environment that allows kids to play whilst parents observe.
